Who is responsible for the lockout process?


Each party in the workplace is responsible for the shutdown plan. In general:

Management is responsible for:

Draft, review and update locking procedures and procedures.
Identify the employees, machines, equipment and processes involved in the program.
Provide necessary protective equipment, hardware and appliances.
Consistency of monitoring and measurement procedures.
Supervisor responsible for:

Distribution of protection equipment, hardware and any appliance; And make sure employees use it correctly.
Ensure that specific equipment procedures are established for machines, equipment and processes in their area.
Ensure that only properly trained staff perform services or maintenance that require downtime.
Ensure that employees under their supervision follow established lockout procedures where required.
Authorized personnel responsible for:

Follow established procedures.
Report any problems related to these procedures, equipment, or locking and tagging processes.
