Lock device is an effective means of isolating and locking dangerous power sources of machines and equipment

The Lockout Tagout does not cut off the device’s power. Use only after isolating the power source

Hanging offers no real protection. Need to be used in conjunction with a lock device.

Additional Requirements for Hanging Out: – Additional training is required for affected persons – Additional safety guidance must be used to ensure that the same level of safety is achieved for locking

Identify the persons under the protection of the LOTO;

Indicate when the equipment is placed in the shutdown state.

The personal tag must accompany the personal lock and be secured to the isolation device.

If the energy isolation device cannot be locked, a personal label warning must be attached, and a padlock should be considered at other detachable energy points.
