While it takes only a minute to reach the machine and remove the blockage or remove the protection and replace parts, it takes only a second to cause serious injury if the machine is accidentally started.
Obviously machines need to be protected with Lockout tagout procedures during maintenance, but other employees need to be aware of Lockout tagout as well.
