Lockout/ Tagout

Lockout tagout is a common energy isolation method designed to prevent physical injury caused by uncontrolled dangerous energy. Prevent accidental opening of equipment; Ensure that the device is turned off.
Lock: Isolate and lock the closed energy sources according to certain procedures to ensure that no one is injured when working in dangerous energy sites.
taging: The closed energy shall be isolated and locked according to certain procedures, and at the same time, the listing warning shall be given to ensure that no one is injured working in dangerous energy places.
Ten principles of locking:
(1) Identify the possible dangerous energy before starting Lockout/ Tagout;
(2) Before the operation, ensure that the relevant energy isolation measures are in place;
(3) In places where locks can be used, do not hang the signature separately. In places where locks cannot be used, formulate special procedures for taging the signature and take measures equivalent to locking;
(4) The personnel entering the locked area should be clear about what risks they may be exposed to;
⑤ The status of Lockout tagout should be communicated with relevant operators in a timely manner;
⑥ Before energy removal and isolation, the hazard of energy should be clearly identified;
⑦ To test the effectiveness of energy isolation measures;
⑧ For all electrical hazards, must be carried out power test;
⑨ At any time, isolating the “power source” is more important than saving time, money, trouble, convenience or productivity;
⑩ “locking up” and “no dangerous operation” are sacrosanct measures.
